Straddle carrier for hot and cold slabs - special development for the steel industry

This straddle carrier was specially developed for use in the steel industry and combines a robust design with state-of-the-art technology. It is designed for daily operation under extreme conditions and is suitable for both hot and cold slabs up to a temperature of +500 °C and a total slab weight of 100 tonnes.

All wheels are individually electrically driven and can be steered and braked. The 8-fold individual wheel steering in combination with all-wheel drive and redundant system ensures maximum manoeuvrability and maximum operational safety. The machine is powered by a diesel-electric system which, thanks to two highly efficient engines (330 kW / 448 hp each), guarantees optimum fuel efficiency while complying with the latest emission standards.

With an overall length of around 14.5 m, an unladen weight of approx. 94 t and a maximum lifting and transport capacity of 100 t, the straddle carrier is a real powerhouse. Despite its dimensions, it reaches a top speed of up to 18 km/h.

A newly developed cab design ensures ergonomic working and fulfils current health and safety requirements - for maximum operating comfort and safety in daily use - Made in Germany.
